MatriKiran is an ICSE affiliated, co-educational School from Pre-Nursery to Grade 12. The 8.25 acre campus is spread over two locations – the Junior School, Sohna Road, on 2 acres, and the Senior School, Sector 83, on 6.25 acres. The Junior School, (Pre-Nursery to Grade 5) on Sohna Road, commenced its first academic session on 4th April 2011, whereas the High School at Vatika India Next, commenced on 4th April 2016. At MatriKiran, the focus is on the five facets of development – Physical, Emotional, Mental, Psychic and Spiritual. The School follows the Integral & Experiential approach towards Education and has successfully completed 10 years of operations. MatriKiran follows integration of subjects through project based experiential learning. The integrated curriculum gradually advances in degrees of specialisation at each level. In Elementary years, students are encouraged to discover the unknown and express themselves. Along with understanding of the curriculum, the focus is also on appearance, behaviour, response to the surroundings, and interest in fine arts. In Junior School, qualities such as attention span, perseverance, concentration and problem solving are developed. Once engaged meaningfully, students are motivated to refine their work and increase the challenge for themselves. In the Middle School, MatriKiran promotes an investigation-based, application-oriented learning, wherein the students develop critical thinking and research skills. With a well laid-out project-based learning system, students constantly, keep their curiosity and inquiry alive. The focus is not on the amount of knowledge gained, but on how to gather the knowledge and how to apply it. Learning is relatively stress-free with continuous evaluations in every subject. The infrastructure includes yoga room, jhoolas, playfields, fish pond, gymnasium, library, laboratories, dining hall, special needs centre, well-ventilated classrooms, audio-visual hall, art, craft & clay modelling studios, ballet & music studios and a state-of-the-art auditorium that can seat 800 people. As a reflection of the role that physical activity and physical literacy play in the development of the whole child, Physical education program at MatriKiran is integral to the curriculum. Sports participation in the school environment provides many benefits to our students in terms of physical fitness, health benefits, cognitive development, personal wellbeing, and social integration. The School has facilities for Football, Athletics, Basketball, Badminton and Volleyball.
