Sainik School Nalanda was established with the primary aim of preparing boys, particularly of Bihar domicile academically, physically and mentally for entry into thee National Defence Academy and the Naval Academy. The School is a residential public school for boys functioning under the aegis of Sainik Schools Society, Ministry of Defence, Govt of India.Inaugurated by the Hon'ble Raksha Mantri  Shri George Fernandes,The School came into existence on 12 Oct 2003 and has been functioning in its permanent building at Nanand village in Nalanda District of Bihar.Mauryans have made their presence felt at the National Level Though, the School is only 12  years old, made its presence felt not only at State level but also at the National level by producing the; best results in the All India Secondary School Examination.  The School  has also bagged the "General Officer Commanding.
