About SLATE - THE SCHOOL

For over two decades now, Slate - The School has been at the forefront in bringing in a fresh and transformative approach to the school education through its 'holistic education', which has set it apart from other schools. Focusing on the all important 'Life Skills' as the cornerstone of its pedagogy, Slate has devised a well-structured curriculum aimed at enhancing SOCIAL and CREATIVE INTELLIGENCE of each child, which is essential in the future world marked by disruptive technologies including automation, AI, Robotics, etc. Mr. Vasireddy Amarnath, an academician turned educationist and Founder-Chairman of Slate - The School, has passionately undertaken the onerous task of making students turn into well-rounded personalities with his 'holistic education' that lays equal emphasis on LifeSkills, values and discipline, apart from academics. Slate - The School is a pioneer in holistic education and has been championing the cause of Life Skills for its students. It has been well accepted and appreciated by parents over the last 21 years. It is validated by the presence of 15,000+ students across 7 campuses in 3 cities (Tirupati, Vijayawada, Hyderabad) in the two Telugu States, who believe and vouch by Slate’s futuristic vision. All the teachers across the campuses are handpicked by the Chairman and are reoriented to enable them to deliver Slate’s unique curriculum through interactive and immersive methodologies to make the learning impactful and enjoyable. With field trips, theme days, and many co-curricular activities, along with energetic and empathetic teachers, there is never a dull moment at Slate and all students tend to look up to Slate as their second home, and are eager to return, day after day. As part of its Life Skills-centric holistic learning, Slate has identified important ‘Basic Skills’* and key ‘Futuristic Skills’*. Deploying its signature curriculum through fine-tuned methodologies and specifically trained teachers, it’s been imparting these skills successfully to its students. All teachers are also trained to inculcate skills like Spirit of Enquiry, Critical Observation, Questioning and Critical Understanding / Thinking. Children are discouraged to ‘memorise’ or rote learn, but are encouraged to think, understand and explore. This exercise happens as daily routine and hence becomes part of a student’s personality. Even in developed countries, while there is still a discussion happening on how to inculcate the futuristic skills among school students and on how to prepare them for the robotic revolution, Slate has been doing it for the last several years. But the focus on ‘futuristic skills’ has been there for the last 5 years. BASIC SKILLS* • Observation Skills • Listening Skills • Reading Skills • Spoken Skills • Written Skills • Concentration Skills • Memory Skills • Application Skills FUTURISTIC SKILLS* • Complex Problem Solving • Critical Thinking • Sportsperson Spirit • Self-Confidence • Empathy • Emotional Intelligence • Determination • Interpersonal Skills • Humility and Simplicity • Leadership Skills
