Rashtriya Military schools were eastablished as King George's Royal Indian Military schools to take care of the education of the sons of defence personnel. In 1952, the schools were reorganized on Public School lines and admissions were made open to the sons of Defence Service Officers and civilians. In 1954, the school became member of the Indian Public Schools Conference (IPSC) and continues to be an active member till date. The schools were renamed Military Schools in 1966 and its old motto, 'Play the Game' was replaced with 'Sheelem Param Bhushanam' which means Character is the Highest Virtue. On 25th Jun 2007, the schools got their present name "Rashtriya Military School". The school has several of its alumni occupying high positions in the Armed Forces and in other sectors doing stellar service to the motherland.
"The prestigious institution was founded by great men of vision under the leadership of the founding member Shri S.R. Kanthi, the then minister of education in 1967, in memory of Kittur Rani Channamma. The foundation stone was laid by Smt Indira Gandhi the Prime minister at that time and school was declared open in 1969 by VKRV Rao, the Union minister for education. KRCRSSG is the only school exclusively for girls on the lines of Military and Sainik school pattern and attracts cadets from all over India. The school is CBSE Affiliated Vide CBSE Affiliation Code No 830488, and has implemented CBSE Pattern Classes from Class VI to Class XII. The school has a memorandum of understanding with Saginaw Valley State University, University Centre – Michigan and Carolltan Public School, Michigan, USA and Saginaw Township Community Schools about 800 girl cadets are currently pursuing their education and excelling in various state and national level competitions in academic, sports, NCC, Scouts and Guides and training programs organized by the Indian Armed forces. Shri Mahaveer Residential English Medium School, Raibag is one of the first and foremost educational institution established to impart education to the Rural children by Shri Laxmisen Education Society, Raibag in the year 1975. The school aims at imparting quality education to the children irrespective of colour, caste, and creed. It is Co - educational and imparts the knowledge through English media. Though it belongs to the community of religious minority but its efforts towards imparting Educational facilities to the people are impartial.
